Air Pirates are notorious as thieves around the Port Royal area. They swoop in, grab what they can and vamoose before most people even see them coming. They're deathly silent and even though they appear to be clumsy, they're actually as graceful on land as they are in the air.

Strategy[]

The Air Pirate is usually seen paired with a Pirate. Depending on your stat arrangement, you should eliminate the larger threat first, which is usually the Air Pirate. With a high Spirit and an equally large Evade, Magick is usually the mode of choice for defeating these beasts. Use of Arcane Arts : Meltdown and Arcane Arts : Silence is heavily advised when faced with these monsters. They have access to a Tier II spell, Aerora, so take severe caution when dealing with these enemies.

An alternate way of fighting Air Pirates would be to utilize Arcane Arts : Fear after Meltdown in order to erase its Mana, thus rendering it useless. Be aware, however, that these brutes carry with them three X-Ethers. It is advisable to force them to waste their X-Ethers on their Pirate ally before attempting to wipe the Air Pirate's Mana out.
