The ''Screwdiver'', also known as the Renegade of the Deep is a heartless found in the deep water surrounding [[Waltier]]. This heartless is very aggressive and territorial, and is known to viciously combat any intruders who it happens across. They are usually solo fighters and hunters, but recently small colonies of Screwdivers have been found patrolling areas of the ocean. The number of heartless in these packs reach upwards of a dozen.

Strategy

Generally the first target of any assault due to their powerful physical attacks. Defending against their raw attack power proves difficult for even the most experienced warriors, as they can easily pump up to a staggering 22 Strength, putting them on-par with the likes of the Corsair. Their relatively low Dexterity can easily be exploited through utilizing an Evade-centric approach.

In order to take them out, Magick works best. Their lower Spirit stat causes them to take the most damage from Magick out of all Atlantican Heartless. They generally bring along slower Heartless in their fights, so consider getting the upper hand by gaining double turns against the slower enemies to bolster your actions against this powerful threat. If you intend not to do that, be sure your Speed is high enough that its Time Arts : Haste won't cause you too much pain.

Screwdiver Brigadier

The Brigadier is a tricky boss, in that it has a high Strength coupled with a respectable Magick stat and Black Arts : Watera to back that up. If it gets multiple actions against you, there is little to no hope of survival. Be sure to pack Battle Arts : Leaf Bracer and, if possible, White Arts : Aspil or Black Arts : Focus to be sure you do not run out of Mana. Be sure to pack high Health, Defense, and the offense of your choice. The fight will be long and arduous, but with proper planning you can come out on top.

Trivia

  • The Screwdiver is the first and only Heartless to feature more than three variations of itself in one chapter.
  • The Screwdiver Brigadier is the only one of the Screwdiver variations to wield a weapon in battle which does not match the weapon held in its sprite.
